About me
Joan has been the Chief Advancement Officer of the Cleveland Leadership Center since the beginning of 2025. With 30 years of experience in nonprofit leadership and organizational growth, Joan is an experienced fundraising professional known for driving impactful fundraising initiatives and advancing mission-driven causes.
Joan most recently was Chief Philanthropy & Marketing Officer for HELP Foundation, Inc., which serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Throughout her distinguished career, Joan has successfully led multiple capital campaigns, cultivated strong donor relationships, and implemented innovative advancement strategies that have resulted in millions of dollars in funding for various organizations.
She has been a Board Member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Cleveland Chapter, President of the Board of the Ohio Association of Nonprofit Organizations, Chair of the 2021 National Philanthropy Day, and Secretary of the Northern Ohio Planned Giving Council (now known as Northern Ohio Charitable Gift Planners).
Joan received a BA in Political Science and English from Bowling Green State University. Her love of fundraising continues in her spare time as she is actively involved in fundraising at Holy Trinity School in Avon which her son, Patrick, attends.
